Clay & Titus Lessley, Kansas City USA

Clay participated during spring-break on the Missionary Trip together with his 11-year-old son Titus. Initially, he came to participate in the evangelistic outreach but when he saw the construction team, Clay, an owner of a roofing company, was encouraged to participate with them on Tuesday and Wednesday in the construction of a house for a family in need. In less than 5 days the missionary construction team managed to build the exterior and interior walls, all the electrical installation, the roof, the windows, and the doors!

  • We asked Clay to share a little about his testimony and what he experienced during the mission trip:

“I am an American who came down for a short-term missions trip. Before meeting Jesus, I was very lost and living a life of sin, but God changed everything with one touch of His love from him.

Participating in the VCH Mission Trip was INCREDIBLE. The community of students/staff blew us away. Jesus said the world would know us by our love and that was exactly what we witnessed. Thank you to everyone!

What impacted me the most was seeing the family in tears in their new home that we had built. Also seeing the IHI students step out boldly in their faith and how well the staff served us.

VCH in Nuevo Laredo is a city on a hill. A light in a dark place.” He said

Clay would like to participate in the VCH Mission Trip again and wants to encourage more people to participate and experience that what is experienced during mission trips is worth it.

“Just do it. Take a step of faith. Take off work. You will not be disappointed.” he shared with us

On Tuesday and Wednesday, while Clay was in the construction, his son Titus accompanied by the VCH staff and the American missionaries continued the evangelical outreaches. nervous because it was his first time sharing the gospel he was happy and willing to be guided by the holy spirit; while we prayed for a lady Titus, he heard the word anxiety, he had no idea where that thought had come from, in fact, he did not know the meaning from that word, that is why he knew that it was God who was speaking to him about the condition of the woman for whom we were praying. Titus asked the lady if she had anxiety, and she with tears in her eyes answered yes, we told her that God wanted to free her from all anxiety, and we prayed for her, so that the peace of God would free her from all anxiety. There is no doubt that God is willing to use us regardless of our height or age, an obedient and willing heart is capable of hearing the voice of God to bring healing and establish the kingdom on earth.

Glory to God for everything that was experienced during the Missionary trip, we were able to see
